For what it's worth I would try putting it back on to help stabilise the idle from vacuum fluctuations affecting the advance.
Should be easy enough to fit :)

Great work with the engine install though wish I was closer to help.

You wouldn't be the first to reap my FREE store room either! I even had someone in my bathroom this year, but that commanded a premium because technically it was an en-suite! ;)
