Badger-tec!

Looks like your aircon condenser took most of the brunt, I can see a crack in the housing on the first pic, you really need to jack it up and see what is blocking the fans, looking at pic 7 it also shows it cracked
And missing a section

It's difficult to tell but it looks like the whole assembly there has shifted but could just be angle of pictures

That's the plan Jay! Although the odds on taking the car appear to be stacking up against me at the moment! I have not given up hope yet!!

Thanks though, that is an unbelievably kind offer. I will assess the damage closer first, see if I can determine what's stopping those fans from moving and take it from there...

Actually, guys, I know it's a big ask especially before Belfast, but I don't suppose anyone is up for a 'Carlos-tec' session either this weekend or next? There's a few things that I would ideally like to sort if I'm going to take the car all that way. I don't like to put on anyone but I'll be brutally honest, I am more than happy to get involved and get my hands dirty, but my knowledge/skills are still novice at best and I'm not sure how to go about some of these jobs myself without at least some guidance!

Cheers!

why don't you have a word with our Tone??? I'm sure if you bought the car down here and offer him a very nice drink I'm sure he would do it. Besides, I'm 2 mile down the road so if he got stuck I could help him

Carl

Your fan cowling is cracked and the fan had probably punctured your rad :(

Check your fan blades for damage too ...

Ohhh I really hope that's not the case Mike. :(

It was leaking before the fans kicked in last night, that's why I'm still hoping it's just a split hose...

Quick update, no further coolant loss after topping it up at lunchtime, still sitting on the level. Haven't tried it running the engine yet though... :?

Im guessing here..... but it looks like the radiator fan cowling has split....... allowing the fans to drop down and catch on the inner housing.... if it was me Id put a shot of rad weld in it... and change the radiator cowling.... hard to see in the pics I know :?

Carl, remember as the engine runs and gets hotter the coolant expands, and you've got to go all the way to Belfast!!! As Alan has just mentioned the radiator cowling looks broke so I would probably guess the fan blades are hitting something.
