Fuel pump fuel lines and injectors

Postby jerzybondov » Mon Jun 27, 2011 12:01 am

So as most of us know, my main fuel pump line ruptured on Friday on my way up to Norfolk. I would like to replace it to avoid the same thing happening in future. But is there a more local alternative to buying one from Ed? Is it possible to get a braided one complete with banjo attachment and hard line screw bit at the other end?

And what's the deal with injectors? Surely it's possible to cross ref those - Bosch something or other? If they're on a million Volvos you've got to be able to get hold of them...

Injectors are a very common item - no problem getting these from any motor factor

Bosch 0437502022 - although they are not cheap!

If you are just looking for a quick answer, then it is this: Phone KMI: http://www.kmipetrolinjection.co.uk/ - they will (usually) have them in stock - use that part number.

I don't think the pipes Ed sell have fittings already attached. It is just a piece of fuel line. I know Jason has a braided hose there, not sure who else? Currently there is not a UK supply of these "ready made". But IMO something definitely worth looking into (Julian)

Spoke with Julian about this already and said I would send the ones I removed from my car so he could use them as a sample

Great idea guys ... Im assuming your old hoses are OEM so that the banjo will be the correct 'depth' Matt

LOL orange ... not stock then :)

As long as there is plenty of thread on the banjo for the dome nut to go back on they sound OK

I know on Gez's split hoses the banjo was pretty thick / high making the nut not go all the way down like it should

Where were thoses hoses from Gez ?

The hose on mine that split came from Martin G. It was complete with banjo etc...

Just spoken to Ken Mills - new injectors are £42.50 a pop. Better than the 61 Euros from Ed but still not cheap! I think I'll take mine out again and do a bit of a test on them to get an idea for how many I actually need, rather than splashing £250 on a set...

Thanks Arran. The sharpness of your wit would be lost on many ;)

Also just spoke to Braydon Motors - the Volvo specialist that I found my engine from. They say they've got no second hand injectors, although new ones can be sourced from Volvo Classic Car Parts at £72.50 + VAT each, and Bosch in Germany at £55 + VAT each. So Ken Mills is definitely the place to get them from if you need them!
