Just wondering, is the Ecto-1 based on/made out of a real car? Like for years I thought the '60s Batmobile was unique until I found out it was based on the 1955 Lincoln Futura concept car thanks to a TV programme lol.

as far as im aware the ecto car is based on a 1957 cadillac ambulance,

According to wikipedia (believe it if you want to lol):

"Both Ectomobiles are currently sitting in a Sony pictures backlot having recently undergone a full restoration after years of deterioration" (Referring to the originals I believe)

This may be one of them, but the page also details several highly accurate replicas being restored/created recently.

The original car was restored and used in the promotion of the Blu-Ray/Game release.

There is a whole piece on the Blu-Ray of the car being restored.
