Another car on Club balljoints, how many is that now? I hope they last or this club is finished lol

No, it was PU on the lower arms all the way. Now that I think of it, the only thing that has rubber in the front are the upper arms. And the wheels of course... :D

About the the club balljoints, I haven't had the chance to drive a single mile with them on. Perhaps tomorrow! :dmcdoors: I sure hope they last until the end of days. I really do not want to go through all this again..

lol! Should be 18 cars now, in 8 countries! :D

8 countries? Any DeLorean owner could do that on his own, by counting where all the parts fell off!

My car done 32k miles on the original ball joints, and only one of them started to show a bit of wear after an extremely nasty ride on the belgian roads last june. I'd say the originals proved to be quite ok.

I got rid of the PU bushes on my lower arms where they bolt to the frame. I found them terrible and I now have new rubbers in there and its made such a difference to the car. I plan to return the rear end to rubber too eventually but its not too bad on the back. The front was worse because everything was felt on the steering and the car is so light at the front end the bushes were just too hard. You might find them ok though Rob, the roads in Holland are better than the roads over here too which will help.

I've noticed that my old (bad) bushings on the LCA were not up to the job. Since I installed the roll ball bushings the ride has improved tremendously, but it seemed that *all* of the flex of the LCA's was absorbed by the roll bar. I can see the wear on those supports now even after only 2000 miles. The system needed to be reinforced somehow. That was why I decided to go for Ed's support brackets and as a package deal I decided to replace the LCA bushings (that connect to the frame) as well. I am hoping for a serious improvement; I do need to rebalance/realign the fronts (at the MOT) and perhaps replace my slightly warped brake discs as well.

Passed MOT without retesting!

- CO was a bit high, as well as the HC's. I thought that was fixed at EuroTec by our mr. NickT
- Right handbrake was lousy and needed adjustment to pass.

That was all!

Well done on the pass there Rob.

I only did a quick set up on yours so let me know what the values were at the test and take it from there.

Co between 2 to 3 % and hc less than 400 ppm would be fine for me with your lambda free system.

I was terrible to say the least. CO was 4.499999 (limit is 4.5) and HC was 12.000 on the right exhaust. Left exhaust was 4.9 and HC 8000. Not like the 2.3 we measured at EuroTec.

I must add that i didn't drive it for about 2 months and the MOT station is just 4 minutes away from where I live.

At idle, about 800 rpm. First thing the mechanic said was 'you may have a small vacuum leak somewhere'. The car runs fine though.
