And I thought £250 was expensive.

On reflection we may have given him too cheap a deal! ;) - that was one of the ones that came over in a suitcase - saved a bit...!

Yes - in fact it is £380 per kit, plus any internal postage for the "other" kit.

If you could get them to ship to a friend in the USA (could find one on DMC Talk?) who could then ship to you it would be quite a lot cheaper.....
If you could find a friend who is also flying to the UK in the next few weeks then even cheaper still!

Likes like a job for the AC experts. Don't they fill them with a special coloured gas, and if it leaks they can see where it's leaking from?

How can I test the compressor or pump before i get it filled?

If they can be got for at or around the £250 mark then I'd be in for a set. £125 a side is bit more tolerable ;)

I might be going to the states again for work in a month or two, I could bring a suitcase of stuff back if you can wait that long.

As I stuck my nose in this earlier, I'd be willing to act as an intermediary if it would save a few quid/bucks.

But reading through the thread, I note that you say that you just need the motor - is that correct? Normally it is the plastic screw guide that breaks, and the motor is OK.

If you truely just need the motor, then there will be plenty of people on both sides of the pond that will have a good used motor.

If it just an assumption based on the fact that the window won't go down, then it is probably the plastic parts and you would be as well replacing the whole thing.

hi DM,
If we could get them delivered to you in the US, im sure it would work out cheaper, is that ok with you?
Can you PM me your address to send to Riki for a quote to ship to you?
It would be full units, motors, plastics, everything.

How many orders would he need to give a 25% discount? Might be a bit cheeky but if you don't ask you don't get. (that should drop it down to £247 per pair plus postage)

Response from Riki

Usually there's no way we can give out -25% but I'll pull an exception for you . To get a -25% discount, you'll have to order at the minimum 5. It has to be shipped and charged to one person all at once.
