And I don't know where the petrol tank is on those - but I've seen the petrol tank go on a burning car, and it's not something you want to be anywhere near when it happens!

Exactly, I think once its taken hold like that you are better staying away.

Having been in the armed forces I have trained to put out raging fires from aircraft crashing on the deck of a ship in peacetime, to bombs and missiles in war. I was trapped in an inferno below deck on an oil rig in the Gulf War. I know all about fire, since the linings of my lungs are damaged from scar tissue as a result, I think I'm qualified to speak out about it.
In my current job I have trained to put out fires at oil and petrol refineries and petrol stations. I used to teach firefighting. Ok, not everyone has this knowledge or experience, but the key here is first response, and I believe as soon as the driver saw the smoke he would have had the opportunity to put out the fire easily with minimum personal risk; instead of walking away and filming it on his phone. Miura's are well known firestarters so any responsible owner would fit a suppression system or carry an extinguisher at the least. These are £500,000+ cars, so you need to be sensible about this known issue.
I have heard through the jungle drums that the poster of this video also posted other prestigious car abuse video's and that this was allegedly a set up.![]()
All my cars have fire extinguishers, I have several industrial types in my garage and home. I'd advise everyone to do the same, this is only a car, you should see first hand what it does to a human body.
