VIN 5992 - The Monarch in Greece & restoration

Service manual reads:
1. Remove battery + cable
2. Remove distributor harness
3. remove distributor cap rotor and cover
4. Remove bolt and remove washer
5. Pull Distributor Assy out.

But I am too stupid to follow simple instructions.... I need the drama and the power tools!!!
Son of a distributor was "welded" in there.
First the head broke off...


Then I had to drill 6 holes around to weaken its stuck column.


Pull it out slowly and also pushing it from inside the cylinder head.

YES!! Absolute nonsense!!!
2.5 hours! Was careful not fracture the cylinder head and kept lubing and drilling...
One slight wrong drilling angle... And he cake can be trashed.

Bloody thing does not give ANY space from inside to push!

Thanx to Josh and 11408, I had luckily purchased a spare one...just in case
And as I know 5992... he "case" is always the "case"

I've got a spare distributor case but has the electrical parts missing. You're welcome to it if you need it as the metalwork is good. If you have a good spare already then no worries.

Bloody HELL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
While torgue tightening the cylinder heads, all 23 bolts were fine, when the last one felt like snapping off....

can you spot the difference????


Tried several ways of removing that son of a *@&$^#&@ but after 3 hours of drilling and cursing... I gave up.


Hoping for mercy and an easy removal. Damn, hat has been my hardest fix yet!
