roadside recovery

Postby delorean12uk » Fri Feb 21, 2014 11:23 am

I have just phoned up Green flag for a quote, and I had to jump through hoops on the questions they asked, and I had to name the oldest car I had which is the Delorean. They then put me on hold because the underwriters had flagged up an issue, when the telephonist lady came back on the line to me, they said they couldn't cover me, so NO breakdown for J. All i wanted was personnel cover so if I was travelling in any vehicle I could get it towed if we broke down. But apparently with Green flag, they can only put you down for personnel cover if you have more than 3 vehicles, if you have less you have to provide details for each vehicle. To end the conversation, the telephonist lady was very apologetic, and said the reason they had refused cover is because of spares availability, although all I wanted was recovery!!! and that she also pointed out they made less than a thousand of them. When I tried correcting her she told me I was mistaken, and that i should get my facts right, and then hung up!!!!

does anyone have roadside recovery for their D, and who is it with please???
Vin: Friday afternoon car, because the bastard thing likes to break all the time

Why do you need recovery for such a reliable well made, and well engineered car?

Hagerty Ins. in the US offer a Hagerty Plus roadside recovery service in addition to Classic Car Insurance. Perhaps they are offering it in the UK now?
