This is the post you are referring to:

I just got mine last week from SuperBrightLEDs.com, haven't got them all fitted yet though. $54 for the lot.

Binnacle: 4x WLED-CW6 (either cool or warm white - illumination); 5x WLED-R90 (red); 1x WLED-A90 (amber); 3x WLED-G90 (green); 1x WLED-B90 (blue)
Center Console: 3x BA7s-R (red); 1x BA7s-A (amber); 3x BA7s-B (blue); 1x 74-B (blue); 1x 74-R (red)

Indeed thanks to Welmoed.

SuperBrightLeds charges me $24 for shipping a few led bulbs. That's plain robbery.

Even thought shipping turned out to be US$16.75, my order total came out to be €34,77 EUR, lucky the EUR is so low these days. Ordered most of the led for the dashboard. Yet again I yield.

I tried to find them at Ebay with free shipping, but i don't need 100 red BA7 led's (@ $9.99/100)

I have this custom gauge lighting, called ElGlo or Indiglo or whatever from SpeetHut. EL sheet is a plastic sheet that lights up if you put 12V AC on it. It does not get warm and takes very little Amps. And it looks cool.

Today I broke the panel connector. It is fucked. The panel is internally damaged and doesn't work any more. EL sheet is non-reparable. Even worse is that the glue underneath basically wrecked up the original instruments. And of course, SpeedHut stopped making these for the DeLorean about 2 years ago. So I have 4 options:

- repair the gauge fronts. Close to impossible for me.
- repair the EL sheet, needs investigating.
- replace the gauge with new originals. $$$$$$$ = no.
- let it be.

Clearly option 2 is the way to go. I decided to buy new panels from EBay. I can separate the SpeedHut silkscreen pretty easily from the EL panel and cut the new ones to size. For $20 I have order on A5 sheet of blue EL that is more than sufficient for my broken panel. This leaves me some stuff for experimenting or other fuck-up's.

I love ebay

This is what a bit of glue did to my gauges. Not for the fainthearted!

If that works then definitely the way to go. I have EL all over my DMC-12 as well, but I balked on doing the instruments, partly because EL can be dodgy for brightness (varies wildly depending on panel and driver, fades as it ages, hard to dim). Went with warm white LEDs and a PWM dimmer module replacing the original in the end, but clearly the SpeedHut solution is working well for you.

The EL sheet didn't stick with the 2-sided tape. So I used some non-corrosive child-safe edible gluten-free non-toxic ph-neutral adhesive to stick it down. Stupid mistake I made 8 years ago.

I can't help that the car is made of sugar. It wasn't stated in the manual.
