I said it before: one thing leads to another.

My remote lock works greater, but I wasn't too happy with the unlocking procedure. Sometimes you had to press 'UNLOCK' two or three times before the latches understood my intention. So it was time for a lock and latch adjustment procedure!

And so it happened that 30 minutes later I was sitting at the workbench degreasing a latch that should be sitting in the drivers door... You can imagine what is involved before and after that. Remove door cards, remove door handle bracket (hate doing that), remove the latches, remove the lock, clean the lock, opened the other door to see how the latches were supposed to go (tip: remember these beforehand - write them down or take pictures). put in the lock, align the lock, insert latches, align latches, adjust, adjust, adjust, adjust (repeat 10 times), install door handle, test, adjust, test, etc.

But it was all worth it, my door lock and unlock so much smoother now. It feels so damn good. New seats, clean carpet, new power window motor, better locks, remote locks, wow.

Been there done that. After making 20 mistakes cause those two sided latches confused me all the time. Its all in mirror position

But I can now assemble a door in 30 minutes.... Bummer is there are no other Deloreans in a radius of at least 2000Km

Agreed! Just a quick lubing makes them new. First spray them silly with wd40 so the old grease softens, if you gor a hand held steamer heat it up and wash clean. Then use a white poly lubing spray formula for great results.

i got some catching up to do, and it keeps my mind off of a view things... being 'between jobs' as you British put it.

Goody goody, new stuff came in the mail today.

This time precious little 9-pin and 3-pin connectors and pins from the wonderful people at http://www.autosparks.co.uk. I will be using these beautiful connectors to create a PROPER wiring to my $12 keyless entry lock module, and restore the damage inside the doors that was done by the PO.

Totally happy with the new door locks and remote. It sounds much more solid now (my old module had a lot of quirks) , and now with the new window regulators and rail adjustments everything works so smooth and solid just like a new car!

tomorrow i'll be wiring up the extra 'trunk release' wire and relay.

bonus: the 'lock doors' telltale works again!

todo: find a way to have the doors unlock when the inertia switch trips. I currently have no wire to perform the unlock. I'd need a diode or two to make that work.
