Fukinell! Relays look nothing like the one on the diagram... Wires are different... For one I had not altered any wiring to begin with. Tested relays. One transmits power, the other doesn't (I assume and hope it's the starter relay when in position 2)

All grounds are laid out except the rear fascia harness to the rear quarter panels.

Found the rat!
Triggered the relays.. Worked fine. So I went fishing under the steering. Somebody in dmcfl when robbing off the canopy etc. connected the switch harness with the ignition harness.
Stupid thing to do by DMC in the first place have two identical connectors in the same place. But issue solved. Key works!

One more issue.
Now when the key is turned to accessory, the a/c face plate stays lit either the lights are on or off. Is that standard?

Yes.

Even more so, you have a A/C Panel Illumination Relay, and and A/C Panel Illumination Resistor (in your relay compartment). They work together. When the headlights are OFF, the HVAC panel shows full brightness, and with the lights on, the relay feeds the power through the resistor pack which has the effect of dimming your HVAC panel.
