Well it's got to sell first... But seems a fair price to me, assuming it is a "sorted" car. January isn't the best month to be selling cars though. Wait until May Dan and sell yours for £35k! :)

Time for a thread title change - again ;)

Is this price bubble just due to BTTF/2015, I wonder, and will the cars be 2 a penny in 2016?

But you might well find the prices rise a lot this year and then plateau the next couple of years...

Well the second part of my last post was obviously tongue-in-cheek, but I do think that the whole BTTF thing has ramped up the prices a bit in 2014. There has certainly been an uptick in BTTF related forum members names and definitely in the amount of replica cars on the road, certainly in the US.

5 years ago, almost all the replicas were in museums etc., and now VideoBob, Coulombe and owners themselves are churning them out, it seems. It the UK, for example, it was just BTTF Brian for many many years and just recently that has been joined by, what, 3 or 4 more replicas?

It seemed like every new years party this year had a deloren present, at least based on Internet coverage. Even Fergie (the singer, not the Royal or the ex-MUFC manager) on the most popular US New Years Eve show (Dick Clarks NYE) brought in the new year with a short monologue about Marty McFly.

Personally I think demand will continue to be high this year and BTTF fans with the means to buy a car will get one, but will dip a little in the next couple or years as the BTTF furor passes. But that's just my opinion. We'll see how it pans out :violin:

You raise some valid points Dermot, as we are also seeing the car now moving into a different price bracket completlely it will be very interesting to see how it pans out.
Personally I think they have finally begun to get where they should have been a while ago

Heres my pennys worth....

yes 2015 will add fuel to the fire but I think prices will continue to rise that little bit every year.

I have my D 3 years and always on the look out for a project as I have a spare complete engine in the garage. I am beginning to accept that it will never happen.
We can all appreciate the US prices control global prices. When I was searching for my own car I recall there were many cars on the market for example I recall Berverly Hills Cars hand a couple for approx. $13K needing total refurb... Craiglist US having dozens of Deloreans today you'd be lucky to find half a dozen...like wise Autotrader US.. the supply is simply not there anymore & in my opinion this trend started early last year 'not' because of 2015. The demand will always be there now as owners who moved in the past few years imported and took advantage of the vintage status removing the surplus that were for sale in the US market hence why prices have risen considerably in the past year.
On Craiglist today there are more Deloreans advertised as 'wanted' than there is for sale...fact.

the question is what would it take to part with the car
