Yes, I think it's down to the tester. Like a chavvy Nova would fail with a "loud" exhaust because it's obviously not standard, but a Subaru would pass with the same exhaust because it is.
So with a new car/import the guy would probably just think it's standard. With a 1980s car that's unlikely.
In our case you'd also need to change the lenses too.

Yeah they were factory xenons on it, but self leveling and washers are far to sophisticated for an american car, yeehaw

I had a good day today. It started with a little drive from my house to the meeting point of the Dutch DeLorean Club (DCN) at the Louwman Car Museum in The Hague. It was a great day and a lot of cars showed up (pictures later).

It was the first time this year that I took out the D. It ran a little rough because i didn't have any time to replace the injectors yet.

After I got back early, I took a small nap, and me and my dad (who was with me to the museum) worked a little on the engine in the afternoon. We replaced 3 of the injectors I had received from AdminBloke, replaced 3 fuel hoses while i was at it. Because of the little time i had we decided to leave it there, so i can take car of the left hand side later this week. We did a little test run and the car now runs a lot better than before with 3 cleaned injectors.

Thanks guys. It was a great day it felt good to drive a bit and chat to all the guys and partners!

I did get the unavoidable remarks about aluminium, bttf and jail time from other visitors but that it alright with me. All passing visitors were respectful and interested (it was a car museum after all you are bound to get chaps like that)

The organisation was top notch too bad i missed dinner.

For reference: the torque on the fuel distributor bolts is 7-9 ft.pound. It's somewhere on the specialt website, i forgot where.
