It's down to personal preference, what gearbox does your daily driver have?

I prefer a manual, but having been in several auto's (which have been properly tuned), speed difference is negligible.
In terms of car's for sale in the UK, most are manual - in fact there is a very nice grey manual for sale just down the road from me, also listed here; viewtopic.php?f=56&t=4775

Hi Mike, Something I have got to look into is pricing before anything else, it might be advantageous for me to get one directly from the states. I have got to look into this in more depth and weigh up my options. I really need one with minimal work that needs doing to it, as time is not plentiful for me

Hello,

I am Sam Hill, owner of 7041 in Virginia. Have enjoyed lurking your forum for years now.

The most enjoyable threads thus far have been the ones sussing out the Middle East cars. Since you have a number of distinguished sleuths, I was wondering if you could identify this VIN.

This picture appeared in the 1989 Delorean Expo issue of DeloreanWorld magazine.

We never did find the VIN, but we found the owner: viewtopic.php?f=103&t=1230

I think we're pretty sure it was chopped up for parts, or just crushed.

Hi Sam, Welcome!

I know the former owner of the car which was registered on a Q plate , which is normally reserved in the UK for cars where the age can't be determined , like a kit car etc

he his going to try again at the DVLA see if we can't finally get the vin.

Thanks for your efforts. It's nice to know there are people as nuts about this as I am. I don't see a reason why, as part of a very long process, that virtually every car cannot be accounted for or documented.

I bought all the old DeloreanWorld magazines last year and have combing it for information on VINs all year. The earlier magazines are not much help, because they thought of the cars differently at that time: a Delorean was a Delorean and you were just happy to have one. The focus was often times on the owner's experience. To compound confusion, there was a period where they would post their Club Membership number next to their names, not their VIN. We really don't give a hoot about DOA membership numbers these days.

There is good legacy info in the magazines, and I was able to connect a few dots here and there with regard to interesting history on certain cars. Thanks again for the welcome.

Welcome.

Aha, another Beverley Hills Car Club car. Tell us, how good or bad was the car when you bought it from them? We are always amazed at the cars that BHCC gets - do you know how come they had it>
