Does someone already tried to replace the hard line by the stainless one from John H? Looks like very difficult to replace it? Not so easy to do it.

And, of course there is something wrong… I lost a small pin down there… (and a small lamp)

So, I had to remove some parts to get it back.

It all looks good enough to eat - can't wait for the video of its first start!

Looking at DSCN3446, is that short copper air pipe a mod? Isn't that where the longer Pipe of Agony goes in?

I think some guys in the US have it this way. Mine doesn't have the short copper pipe, just a hole and sealing band. The entire 30cm of metal tube just snugly pokes into the hole.

So you just use rubber tube to connect from that short tube to the idle speed motor? Sounds much better to me. Wish mine was like that!

I have had a couple of later style volvo intake units and they both have a small copper pipe permanently fitted, to which you then join to the idle speed motor with a rubber pipe joint.
The dmc set up with the o-ring nonsense must be responsible for the majority of vacuum leaks.
