So I dragged the car out of slumber, to start MOT prep, and general fettle to make good for going to the Netherlands.
I haven't touched it since June, after Belfast. I lost the outer LH headlight on position 1 on the up to Liverpool, then the high beams on the way back.
The MOT expired a week or so after I got back, and I had to get bikes recommissioned for going to the Isle of Man.
I connected the battery and she "fired right up" as the Yanks are very fond of saying.
I checked the earths, but they were good, and the plug at the back of the switch. Fine. Relays were clicking, but no more than a single RH lamp would work. Fuses good too...
Headlamps out then...
First off, I didn't like this

Then I removed the sealed beam units. This was pretty hard on the fascia, but it could do with repair and repaint anyway. Next year!
I couldn't work out why the lamps were so tight to the fascia. But it looks like the panel to which the bucket brackets mount is not oem. Mike Ward, I know this is
for you, but its not really seen
And as I am very fond of telling you, it IS an early car, so questionable fit generally. ..
Here's the ? Replacement panel I mean. Looks stainless, is this normally mild steel??
