Hmmm, not so sure I agree.

With the fall in the value of the £ cars are certainly more expensive to import than last year which must stabilise UK prices at the least.

Sounds like "alternative facts" as Trump would say ;)

I think that must have been written by the same person who put the below together for the Classic Car Price Guide

Yes, I'd tend to agree Darren. With the Dollar to the Pound nowhere near what it was, it will be more expensive to bring one in, which you would assume makes our cars go up in price.
I guess there are lots of factors & it could be that less desirable/worse condition cars went through auction than the previous year, which is where they will be getting their values from.

Or, if you take the view that 2015 prices rose falsely because of some movie tie in, and discount the 8% rise as an aberration, they have actually risen 4% over 2 years

I would have expected some increased interest with the BTTF anniversary, and then a more "normal" drop as things go a bit quieter. In reality, here, prices have been fairly static for some time.

Can you get anything for 8K?!

An "average" car for 12K ???!! Not for a long time! That would mean a bit rough round the edges, but some upgrades, and likely an MOT. I don't even think you could get that for 17k, which is their ballpark for a "good" one.

I consider mine Good, but maybe not Excellent, and would say its about 28-30k...

Those figures are nuts Mike!

Nice graph (more realistic) here

https://www.hagerty.com/apps/valuationt ... ean-dmc~12

With exchange rate, shipping & duties the purchase price in USD is about = to GBP when the cars here and cleared customs.

Ju, Mike, I suggest those publications go in the cat litter tray with yesterdays news ;)

Minus 5% for the Mighty Auto????........ :D
