One can only assume that the offer never panned out. Even at £18.5K I doubt all is lost for the seller - if he's had it a couple of years, I can't have think it would have stood him too much more than that given that not much appears to have been done to it since import.
It does make me worried about values now though - 2 more auctions to come in a week..... - or maybe buyers are more savvy than I thought
- the new owner will be spending several thousands on this if they aren't putting it in a museum.
Given the price paid by the 3 most recent buyers I can think of for imports, all much less than this, only time will tell if the new owner paid a good price - probably not. As usual the auction house is the real winner here
