Hello, small progress. Or rather as with these cars, many hours spent, progress limited!
My old rad hose was pinholed. Indicative of the rest of the cooling system, the pessamist predicts.

So I bought a new pipe from D Go

This fitted perfectly. As I had the system part drained, I also flushed the block.
I had noticed an oil weep, so also a good time to try to get this done. I replaced a previously bodged (7 years ago, by me, a reasonably effective stop gap!) cam cover seal, as this was a bit wet. Also the 2 oil senders as they were also questionable.
Oil and coolant flush at 85,498 miles.

I should really have cleaned up the block, but thought fuck it, no one sees it, get more stuff done. Anyway, when the block rot eats thru it'll just get oily again.
I also fitted the D Go wide angle mirrors I got from Arran at norfolk.
I used 3M VHB (very high bond) tape, bulit up in the centre of the mirror to account for the curve in the glass.

Removed old glass with a hairdryer and care

The drivers side lecky mirror protested loudly and comically trying to move the new glass, so swearing at the silver cunt, I gently unbonded the not-actually-that-highly-bonded-but still-quite-dear 3M tape.
I don't like fixing things that aren't broken, so didn't strip the passenger side when the glass was off. But the little red pins had become misaligned on the drivers mirror.

Cleaned, lubed reassembled, mirror stuck on.
They are really useful on the road, and will be especially so on the motorway. They almost feel like a modern car, one of the reasons these mirrors have DMC illegally etched in to the glass. Despite the risk of my car being impounded as evidence by American lawyers, this etching is useful, in case you slip into the idea that your modern type mirrors are attached to a normal functional car.
