That’s awesome work! Didn’t go in so easily when we did mine, I seem to remember :)

I had to get the crane out again. I forgot to attach the bracket for the clutch line. It helped fitting the shift linkage too.

This second time I struggled a bit more to get it to fall into place, but still somewhat smoothly.

Yo guys, I’m back at it!

Today I replaced the last six pieces of rubber in the piping for the cooling system. I’ve been loathing that for al long time. I hate the sticky mess from the coolant.

I also installed the hoses on the water pump, and the clutch slave.

Now I’m only loathing the following:
-replacing a ballooning fuel hose at the accumulator
-attaching the shift linkage to the top of the transmission
-bolting on the drive shafts

Then I’ll get on with the fun stuff in the engine bay. :)

But I still need to clean some of the Volvo parts, like the k-jet assembly with the metering plate. More stuff to loath. ;)

Another short session tonight. I got the shift linkage installed, after wasting time trying to locate all parts. I found some other missing parts though, but typically after having ordered replacements. Not the first time this happens...

I also did the trans mounts and driveshafts. The bolts for the motor mounts are also missing, unfortunately. And I thought I had everything perfectly organized...

I test fitted my shiny deloreango headers. They fit perfectly, thanks to me making sure they did while the engine was out. I had to do some minor modifications to ensure a perfect fit back then. I’ll have to do the wiring for the starter and snug up the motor mounts before final header installation.

To my slight displeasure I noticed that the left parking brake had stopped working. Great.

Not long now before I can carry on installing engine ancillaries.

Great stuff.
I'm currently re routing the cables to the alternator, oil pressure sensor and starter - at the moment everything is too darn close to the headers for comfort!
I wanted to get rid of the ugly loom over the top of the engine anyway :-)

I'm still occupied with summer activities, so very little car action. Just for kicks I installed the driver's side header and dip stick last night.

Miniature progress. Some wires and odds and ends. Got a few things figured out and a few installed and replaced.

Today's session: exhaust brackets and heat shield, plus wiring for the starter and alternator.

I'm considering setting a goal. Getting the car done in 100 sessions. Getting it running by 30. 30 more for getting everything installed and the car complete. 30 for shakedown. 10 to spare. 4 nights a week, 15 a month for 6 months equals 90. It's going to be tight.

Literally struggling to make ends meet... having a hard time fitting the exhaust properly.
