I posted on the forum last month regarding my D’s engine - since picking it up from Dublin earlier in the year it’s always ran rough - coughing - spluttering - couldn’t set the mixture - my old Skool Volvo guy changed the injectors - seals - rota arm - dizzy cap and plugs - ( 2 plugs were pretty sooted up ) - so car was running better but still not right - especially when cold - Volvo guy was struggling so I bought a reprint manual and dropped it off for a bit of bed time reading over the weekend - he called me to say he believed the thermotime switch needed replacing - so £50 lighter had Arran send it straight to him - couple of days later he calls me to say “ all done “ so all mixture all sorted too and not a huge bill either £130 - went to pick it up and now runs far far better - and no stink of petrol either - so maybe the switch was stuck so giving constant extra fuel even when cold - anyone else had problems with this switch ?
Only thing he didn’t change was fuel filter so any advice on the do’s and dont’s ( bleeding ) etc - if the air filter was the original I would have thought the fuel filter could be too
Also removing the seats - is it just the 4 nuts underneath the car and that’s it ( surely not ) not got no ramp so I’ve had a quick look and already given them a blast of WD40 - any seat belt sensors - I’ve had a quick feel under the passenger seat and sure I felt a couple of wires hanging there ?
