Just had my seats restored......£150.....

Postby TristanC » Wed Sep 05, 2018 7:56 pm

Hi everyone!

Still enjoying 11477, but the time came for the next piece of restoration.... the seats.
They were in pretty good shape to start with. The leather was still supple and I wanted to try and keep as much of the car original as possible - so restoration was the way for me.

So here’s my £150 restoration, carried out by Leather Medic here in South Wales.....

Yep - they are pretty good I reckon.

Will post up some shots once they are back in the car.

I suppose the big test is going out for a spin wearing a pair of white ( Saturday night fever ) flares and seeing if the arse is still white when you get home lol

Looks good Tristan. It would be interesting to know how well they hold up in say a year or twos time? I know Gary Dunster had his redyed several years ago, and the dye has worn off again.

Cheers Mike,

Now they’re in the car, I don’t really like the colour. It’s not a great match to the original.
The guy is going to redo them to match better for me soon.

But yes, we’ll see how they hold up over the coming months/years.

It’s really delaying the inevitable of getting new covers at some point in my opinion though :)
