Hi All
Right then 1st things 1st, how many times have you lot heard me say... I'm going to repair that when i do the body off restoration ???
Well I've finally put into action the epic plan to sort everything out, so it started off with an idea of making use of the RSJ that runs across the middle of my garage and use to RSJ trolleys and 2 chain winches to lift some sort of brackets to lift the body off, this would act the same way as a 2 post ramp and leave the middle of the car free to lift the body off the chassis.
I started off getting these ...
After this i then started thinking about what i could make to lift the body up and came up with this ...
Then for a test fit ...
I then added another piece of wood on the back of the main square from which fits into the recess under the car and bolt through the seat mounting holes, this prevents the brackets from slipping out from under the car...
After a few more tweaks and modification i ended up with these ...
I also added a strong piece of angle Iron which bolted in the sill, this bolted in place of the original tin piece so no extra holes were needed...
I then preceded to remove the rear facia and a few other bits and then at 7.50am this morning (Saturday) i had a visitor ...
I'l continue how we got in, in the next post ...
