Last weekend saw new tie rod ends and rubber gaitors as i understand perished or split gaitors to be an MOT failure. I thought i would change the tie rod ends too since the rubber on them had pretty much disappeared also.
Today I decided once and for all to sort out the passenger window. I thought the motor was dead so I removed it, took it apart, fiddled with the winder then put it back together. I then hooked it up to the drivers side and voila... it worked. My next thought was there must be a break in the wire between the motor and the switch. I knew the switch was a bit intermittent so i gave it a clean up with some connector spray and now thats sorted. Swish!
So knowing the motor worked i reinstalled the motor and guess what, the wires on the motor had originally been put on the wrong way. Damn PO, he strikes again. Wish I had known that before as it was a real pain in the ass to remove when the window is fully down. Either way, ive saved myself a lot of money for the time being and now have 2 working windows and got the door cards back on finally. Lovely jubbly! Its now not so much of an eyesore inside.
So i think ive earnt my beer for today.
And yes, I still need to get the bloody fog light mod sorted. I dont know why I keep putting it off.
