It's been a while but alot of boring sorting through stuff and labelling/ organising parts and needing more bolts done.
Did manage to get a nice booty of engine stuff for the rebuild off arran, amazing fast service as usual! :D :jzd:

Nearly have everything now for the rebuild but when checking I found a few missing bits that I need to get that I forgot to order. Will check and recheck the list again.

Did manage to get the dlm and idle speed ecu the full nick t health check and seal of approval, thank you again nick, much appreciated as ever

Got the air conditioning idler pulley and bracket refurbed which is small, but still progress. The old bearings were grumbly and rough well past it and in definite need of changing.
Got the bracket blasted and zinc plated and the pulleys blasted and powder coated. Now they re smooth and quiet as they should be..

Thanks guys!

Hopefully sort the the cv joints next.

Was wondering do you need to use rtv or similar on the end caps when putting them back on to the joint itself to help seal it or do without?

I didn't on my original D and they leaked grease and had to be re-done, so I did on this one and they have been spot on, but you will need to make sure the surfaces are very clean.

They had blue sealant on them from the factory, you'll probably find some residue of this left behind?

This was mine. I masked off the surface when putting the grease in so they were nice and clean to put on a thin smear of sealant:

Ah yes your right dan, I did see a smidgen of some kind of blue sealant on the end cap but only on the rear caps interestingly..

I'll go with some sealant on both caps just to be sure.

That's a great tip with the masking tape, that will make it alot easier to keep clean while packing it with grease. Nice one!

Cheers
