And so about 4 weeks ago I got the fascias back from Dowsetts, and they are mint.
They were a in right nick before hand, so I was realistic in how they would ever be.
Thanks too much to Darren and the paint guys Chris and WIll at Dowsets, and Al for helping sort.
top guys, top work. Highly recommended!
We decided on the Hyundai colour, and I think its right. I guess you can never tell until its parked up with its brethren, but either way, am pleased with it. (Tho some gaps will have to be "massaged"!)

Behold! The headlight gap finishers I have had for about 9 years, unfitted. Bought just after I got the car, as one of those stupid early impulse wastes-of-money, cos the visible rusty shit there always pissed me off. This felt good, as I always know the job was coming, after everything else- wiring, headlamps etc were done.

Darren kept a close eye to make sure the black lower lines on the fascias aligned with the lower black trim on the car. You can see this is important (but does mean the fascias have to align!). Thanks! appreciated Mr C.
Looking back over the old photos there was a lot of remedial work to do prior to paint. The top corner was stitched, and strengthened from the rear.

You can also see the notches which I filed to allow adjustment and removal of headlights. I didn't want to be bending and the fascia to get in with screwdriver. Hopefully now not necessary.
I also realised that while (carefully) refitting them, that even in just a few (hot) weeks off the car and sitting unsupported they had changed shape. The rear especially needed about half an inch of packing out the the brackets inside the rear wall, and I'm still not totally happy with it.

Its too high by about 5 mm, judging from the bend in the stainless vs the corresponding profile of the fascia. This needs a Gap Tec, as I can actually get it ok on my own, but on tightenting it wants to climb up. I need to try to find out whats fouling.... later.
I am pleased with all the work to the back I did a couple of years ago- strengthening bars, cage nuts, black CSK fasteners, re-wiring, fog light etc.

So I washed it, hoovered it, magic erasered, black-trim waxed it, to take my agreed values photos

And later today, I am actually going to drive it... that will be an unwelcome novelty
Thanks to Darren, and the rest of the guys at Dowsetts- fantastic work, they know their onions, especially with plastics, and I would not hesitate to recommend for this. I also delivered fascia's off the car, but did spend a lot of time making sure that were all sorted so that removal and refitting is now as easy as it can be. They don't get too beat up putting them back on (YMMV).
Cheers all. Fusebox next?
