By my estimation there are at least 19 Deloreans currently in museums round the world but I am sure there are more. Have I missed any in the UK or Europe? Are they still at these museums?

01057 Ellingson Car Museum, Roger, MI
02341 Museum Volo Auto, Volo, IL
03489 Museum Volo Auto, Volo, IL (not sure about these two. I think there is only 1 there now)
04300 un named museum, Reno, NV (gold car)
04301 Peterson Museum, Los Angeles, CA (gold car)
07004 Northeast Classic Car Museum, Norwich, NY
10485 Autoworld Museum, Fulton, MO

Vin?? Universal Studios, Orlando FL (BTTF)
Vin?? Hollywood Star Cars, Gatlinberg, TN

Canada
10004 Louis Tussauds Waxworks Museum, Niagara Falls, ON

UK
00513 Ulster Folk & Transport Museum, Cultra NI
00758 Lakeland Motor Museum, England
01990 London Car Museum, London England
05126 un-named Museum, London (painted Red)
06889 Beaulieu Motor Museum, England
10680 Cornish Goldsmiths Museum, Cornwall, England (BTTF)
11747 Coventry Museum, Coventry, England

Europe

I have only seen 2 of these (Cultra & Universal). Who has seen the most?

There was a D in the Autoworld museum in Brussels. Not sure if its still there. I did ask the Belgian D club but I can;t find their response.

I checked up on this. Apparently the museum in Rosmalen is no longer a museum, but just a car exhibition site. The entire collection of cars (including the DeLorean) has moved to the Louwman National Car Museum (http://www.louwmanmuseum.nl) in The Hague (CLOSE!) which will be opened mid 2010.

OK, I'm up to about 40 cars at the moment. Just sifting through the various locations.

I am told that the Haynes one is vin 4321. Can anyone confirm that?

I'll post the full list shortly, so you can all plan your busman's holiday :D

Here is the first draft of the Deloreans in Museums list. I have information on 52 cars that are confirmed, or probably, on public display in various museums around the world. It is a work in progress as some information is still outstanding.

I posted the original request on 10 Delorean forums around the world and have been amazed at the response that I have received from owners across the globe. Thank You everybody in the Delorean Community.

Where available I have shown websites for the museums, which should be clickable from within the document, so you can get addresses, phone numbers, opening hours etc. A few have direct links to the cars themselves.

I have written to each museum requesting confirmation that the Delorean is still on public display as well as any other information that they may care to share. In the final list, I will try and indicate which ones are confirmed in 2010.

There are many open items that I have and if anyone is visiting any of the museums with a “Vin??” or “?/?” notation, please help me fill in the blanks (or ?)

In particular, I’m not sure where I got the info about the Red car in a London Museum, vin 5146. Any help??

I have also included information on locations that previously displayed Deloreans, just for completeness.

So if you have a trip planned this summer, you can maybe include a Delorean viewing in case you are getting withdrawal symptoms
