Fuel pump mounting

I've been stripping apart my Volvo 760 now I've nicked the engine out of it and found how the fuel pump and accumulator are mounted. They are mounted together under the car with a short pipe. This seems like a much better way of doing it than on the delorean. It just has a hose off the bottom of the pump which goes to the tank, so none of this fuel pump boot rubbish which leaks and end up with the electrical connections submerged in fuel

Quick clean up... That will do for a spare when my Delorean arrives :)

Yes, Dan,

Most "other" manufacturers with K Jetronic do this. Most common is the Golf GTI, both pump and accumulator side by side out of the tank.
God only knows why delorean chose to submerge the pump?

My V12 Ferrari has 2 x K jetronic systems, one per bank of 6 cylinders (basically 2 complete delorean injection systems) it has two pumps and two accumulators on twinned mountings side by side.

Twice the agro
