What is the best stuff these days for painting the frame?

I have some epoxy lifted off where the brake master has leaked which needs sorting out before I put the tank back in.

It's not really protected your chassis very well though Gez ;)

 Ha! Dan's being cunty!

I would recommend POR-15. Use with marine clean first, and thentheir metal ready, follow the intructions to the letter, and I was quite pleased with the result.

Horifically expensive however, and tin, once open, does not keep for long. Best get all the bits ready to paint, and do it all at once. A few coats, over the space of a few days.

Nice result, especially if you take your time and are careful, and its a reasonable match for the original epoxy, not that I am too bothered about that. Just the cost that bugs me. And throwing out half a tin of expensive set paint, before paying thru the nose for more!

To be fair, the bits I redid with POR15 are fine. It's the insides of it I couldn't reach that are the problem!

That's what I used for my chassis Dan, great stuff, lovely finish too, looks like it was sprayed- I used a small roller for most of it and a paintbrush where the roller couldn't get. Then I sprayed some of this into box sections and other areas of the chassis to protect it, brilliant stuff, can't recommend it highly enough, I have used it a good few times over the years.

Por 15 is excellent stuff.

Redoing the Elise suspension in it as we speak.

Best thing to do is get some disposable plastic contains and decant it into that. So far mine has kept for 2 years without any problems.

Ditto, on whats been said about the POR 15. The quality of the protection is all in the prep, not the epoxy.
Good colour match is the only issue with spot repairs.
