This was an interesting ride...
To think that in my 38 years of touring the globe I never encountered a Delorean. The first one I ever saw was mine, coming out of that container 18 months ago...

Last week I took a road trip from Augsburg Germany to pick up a Mini for a friend.

That bloody thing is quite fast for a diesel!

The only reason I took that trip is to drive to Ed's and pick up a new windscreen for my delo.

(you may hardly see it but its there!)

It was a very long drive for 3 days time but I played with the cards I had been dealt. No more time available...

What I found utterly interesting is that I encountered the most deloreans EVER!!!

Meet 1 (not scheduled)
Augsburg..
I drove by Deloman's garage and saw the two DELOREAN WORLD TOUR cars.

Apparently Deloman was on his midday break and I hardly go him to open the garage door for a hand shake. He then offered me some coffee, but the moment had passed for me.

On to eds place. Arrived there just in time (17:30) to pick up the screen. Ed was away so I missed to meet him. The fellas next door helped me get my screen.
Here are some shots for the masters place in europe:)
(pardon the poor smartphone shots)

This is a time machine made by a friend in Germany for who I made all the internal parts.. It is now sitting in Ed's Showroom.

On my way back, I met my friend ( owner of the TM) who owns another 5 Deloreans for a brief chat before I drove back to Athens.

main point.. screen made it safely to my garage :D

and the joke of it all..

Had I know Deloman was in augsburg, he had winscreens for me to buy... and I would have saved that long drive to ed (the extra 2000 KM!!!)

Nahh. Pure stupidity.

What I missed to mention is that I met the new owner of 5992 (my delorean) in Frankfurt. Apparently I had a secret admirer who was following the process of my restoration and would not take no for an answer.

So I am on the lookout for a new delorean. This time I am not going for the whole 9 yard restoration (frame engine tranny overhaul).

also I was dissapointwd that my driving schedule did not work out to meet my dutchie bud Rob. Next time Rob!;);)
