The diagram has omitted the Mrs sat in the car.

Laugh it up manual boys!!!! we'll see who'll be laughing when we get to Belfast next May!!!! Limping on your left leg for the whole weekend because of to many gear changes. True story: In 2001 Chris N and I convoyed to Belfast, he was in absolutely agony by the time we got to the Europa, and then Dave H showed us where the secure parking was which was in a multistory. In a last attempt to maneuver his car in to a parking bay, Chris was in so much pain that he strained that last bit of energy to put his car in reverse............................and the poor boy was so exhausted in his left leg that he sharted!!! ask him!!!
We'll have this conversation in 10 years time when you've all got arthritis in your left Knee!!! Even our intrepid leader Mr Vanstone had an auto, manualised it, sold it because of the disappointment and then re bought another auto, now what does that tell you!!!
