Hi welcome !

I think are only a couple of cars in South Africa?

There was an article saying that they planned to sell around 12
Will see if I can dig it out
The part number you need is 102581

Welcome Jim

Any pics of the car? Do you drive it much or is it still at 460 miles :)

When did you import it?

Sorry guys I only saw your replies now...just getting the hang of the forum

I imported her in 2005, found her advertised on Ebay, the low mileage of 460 appealed to me, mileage now is just over 1500 i think i paid $22k

Had no brakes so had the master cylinder stainless steel sleeved which sorted that out, shes a bit of a rattle trap, we repaired one of the window control cables also.

She has a 3rd brake light neatly built into the rear louvre which looks nifty.
Replaced the gas struts once and now these are starting to sag
Had the CATS removed and an almost identical exhaust tips replacement system, runs a lot better.
Original radio cassette unit
Clock dont work....lol
Door mirror switch packed up
Crack in dash but she came with a shaped dash mat
Came with owners hand book and wallet etc, a workshop manual and parts list manual a lovely fitted cover with Delorean logo

Cheers to you all

If you are interested in having the dash restored, many of us would recommend Lee Pattison, DeLorean owning vehicle upholsterer and trimmer.

He can work miracles, even with the most beat up of interior pieces, a good example of the quality of his work can be seen in these before and after pictures: viewtopic.php?f=41&t=5343&p=71948&hilit=pattison#p71948
