Yesterday one of my builders knocked a wooden stump into my rear right quart panel. It's not deep but unsightly. I have a chap who can massage it back out but my question is.....how do we get access to it? He wants to do it from the back.
Is there another skin behind the stainless?

Take the rear panel off if you cannot get to the dent via the wheel arch, door jam or rear tail light out.

What method would you suggest? I've never taken off a panel before.

That does (IMO) need the panel removing, which is a pain since you'll need to remove, or loosen the t-panel, skirt and rear facia to get to the screws holding it on. Since the seem of the tub is below the dent I can't think of a way of getting to it unless it can be pulled out with a dent/plunger remover.

Yes, panel off. Iooking at it in the photo, there's a small crease at the dent base, that won't pull out.
Stainless Delorean panels are not like working mild steel, its harder to get dents out. Your panel guy needs to have a good amount of skill and experience, plus it will need a re-brush afterwards as any dent removal will mark the brush finish so that once the dent's out it'll still stand out like a shiny spot and need re brushing to get it back to normal.

And for the love of whatever God you kneel to, if you remove anything panel-related yourself WEAR GLOVES - the edges are like razor blade and you won't even feel the steel slice you open.

Rotten luck I'm probably saying the obvious but is it worth showing the photo to Chris Nicholson? Dunno where you are so it might be a bit of a drive to get it to him in Essex but I can't imagine much good will come of trying to remove the panel yourself and then post it to him. If the panel has to regrained afterwards it will probably look different / better than the rest of the car anyway (sorry if that sounds insulting - not my intention!). Maybe an opportunity to bite the bullet, ask him to fix the dent and regrain the whole car in the process...the last time I asked him a complete regrain was £500 ish.

Nicholsons your man, I know its gonna be a pain in the arse and time removing the panel, and getting the panel to him, but when it comes to do with anything with panels the man has got golden hands .....................shit mechanic though
