Unfortunately the only place that is fit for is the bin. Time for a replacement.

I would consider upgrading the cooling fans to the new lower current and more efficient ones as well. http://www.deloreanclub.uk/cooling-fans ... wling.html

What is the condition of the radiator? It may be wise to replace the whole lot while you are in there. http://www.deloreanclub.uk/cooling-kit- ... iator.html

And if you are bothered about getting the AC working in the future go one step further and get the kit which includes a new AC condenser. http://www.deloreanclub.uk/cooling-kit- ... ensor.html

Assuming the coolant hoses are original you will want to upgrade those as well http://www.deloreanclub.uk/silicone-hose-kit.html

You could save that with Gaffa & the Mighty Scotchlock ;)

Put it on ebay, say you found it in 1985 on a level crossing near Hillvalley, worth £1000's

ha ha love the comments - The car I'm refurbing (as most of you probably know) is one of the UAE 50 cars.

I always said to myself that it would be a sympathetic restoration and try and keep it to the original spec - non withstanding the fact that it will need new (upgraded) parts.
I've taken advice from my guru (A Van) that I should upgrade the fans to the newer version as he says that the old ones are a drain on the electrics and come in with a "bump" as someone else said.

With regard to anything I take off the car ..... some things I will throw in the skip such as a the badly cracked fuel tank and the fan cowling of which some broken bits are missing.

The fans? well they were going to be stored in a box labelled "original yet useful parts".

Being new to the world of Delorean ownership (one that has to be said is a 95% complete car + boxes and bags of bits - some of which I can identify some of which I haven't a clue!) I've realised that spares are uhhhhhh astronomical in some instances.

So in conclusion, the broken cowling will find it's way to the skip along with the tank.
- in the scheme of things I 'll keep the fans and who knows maybe barter them for some OEM parts that I need in the future like:-
- Rock screen
-spare wheel rim
- wheel emblem
- auto stick emblem - just the emblem
- new bonnetc

Cheers
Spud

yes mate you can have it - it is badly damaged and is like a jig saw with some pieces missing - I'll hang on to the fans for now though. Just PM me or e mail spudwales at goooooogle male dot com (i hate robots who skim e mails that's why I have written it like this!)

Just curious as to why someone would want this though? :?:
