+1 on the VR6/Audi 3.2 - I have one of these, and they are pretty much worthless now due to the £520 a year tax, so must be loads around for relatively cheap for what has to be one of the most reliable engines for the money.
If we could somehow stick the paddle-shift DSG gearbox in with it too (as it is on my Audi) that would be an awesome machine.

I expect a plug & play Audi 3.2V6 engine swap kit to be available to purchase via the DeLorean Club website within the next 48hours.

There are quite a lot of the 3.2V6 engined Audi's for sale on eBay, indeed complete cars going for sub £2k I'm guessing you would want the whole car so you don't run the risk of missing an important engine related component.

Could that size engine potentially be OK with the UN1 gearbox? I would imagine in some respects changing/fitting a different gearbox is almost as big a job, if not bigger, than swapping the engine.

p.s. sorry we are somewhat off topic...

not as simple as that guys, you need the loom for a start!!!! Then it's all the ancillary equipment that needs to be connected to the body module, which in turn communicates to the PCM via CAN bus, ie ABS, safety systems all need to be speaking to each other otherwise none of it will work!!!!
funnily enough I've had the odd dream about installing an Audi quattro engine and transmission into a Delorean frame. Even worked out how to put everything in rear mounted but the wheels turn the correct way. the only thing I was stumped on was the drive for the front wheels, where would you run the drive, through the tank??? Anything is feasible I suppose. I'd absolutely love a project like that, but as always it's my greatest enemy that's against me......................Time!!!!

Hi All

Whilst we are on the subject of Volvos, it's reminded me that Barry and me still have this complete car that we bought a year or so ago.

The engine has a broken timing chain but it Spins freely and all of the ancillaries are there, i.e.: fuelling, ecu's etc

We need the space that this car is taking up as we intend to start one of our project cars Very soon so our plan was to get the engine out and put it to one side for the time being until we have time to sort it out, and then just scrap the rest of the car.

We would however consider selling this car complete 'as is' at this point in time, if anyone is genuinely interested please feel free to contact me.

Cheers
