Very very sad news, Rob was a lovely guy and will be missed. As Julian said Rob always made me chuckle correcting our grammar and his sense of humour, even during his illness, always brought a smile to my face.

RIP Rob

Very sorry to hear this. Rob was so helpful whenever I had a question about getting my D ready. Never met him in person. We did want to meet for coffee and do some tire kicking and compare our D's.

I was very upset to find out this terrible news yesterday. Rob and I had many chats online, chewing the fat and helping one another out with queries and projects. It's so distressing that he was reassuring us all on FB just the other day that him going to a hospice was just for a few days as a precaution. He always tried to remain strong and determined; advising as all "it was going to be ok".

I'm very sorry Rob has left us, but we're all stronger for knowing him while he was here. RIP Rob. You will be missed by all, forever.

Very shocked to hear the news, there are no words to express how saddened I am.

As said before Rob was a great bloke, far, far too soon to leave us.

My thoughts are with his family.

So very sad when I heard this news... Life is so cruel sometimes...

Rob, you really were one of the good ones, a great down to earth guy with a sharp wit to match. I loved how positive you were and despite what you had been through, you were determined not to let it get you down.

Was barely a year since I last saw you at SilverCoast, being your usual happy go lucky self that we all know and love and those are the memories I will treasure with the others the most...

RIP Dutch Rob, we fackin love you! x

Yesterday, Tone, Grey and myself went out to the Netherlands to say a final farewell to our Dutch ambassador Rob Van de Veer. He always made the effort to come and see us, so went over to Holland to be part of his grand send off, and his family and friends certainly did that for him. I would describe it as more of a celebration of life than a funeral, and his family and friends made us especially welcome. God bless you Rob!!!
