Stuart Rees and myself got started on the car yesterday - getting it ready for MOT and then registered - as I mentioned on my earlier thread the handbrake did nothing - so that was the 1st job - Stuart instantly noticed the shoes were in the wrong way around so we replaced them with a new set from Aaron along with a new set of brake pads too - now I have a good handbrake ( 3 or 4 clicks ) just hope it gets it through the MOT - also fixed one of the marker lights and replaced both wipers so next job is find out why I have no lights ( they were working when we drove it onto the trailer in Dublin ) ?? And a oil and filter change plugs etc
One slightly strange thing we found when we took the top panels off the doors to see what was written inside - one could easily be seen and figured out it read - “ b shift - the date and some kind of signature but on the other door you could just about see the same writing but was sprayed over with a grey paint ??? Strange - also between the door and panel ( where the writing is ) a sheet of reflective foil insulation was inserted???

Mine had the foil sheeting too - you're the first I've heard of another car having it, I assumed a PO added it for some reason.

Mine had a polystyrene panel!! Presumed noise deadening?

Yes stu and I couldn’t understand the 17 or why the other side had been covered up with spray paint ??

I think it's "1st" then "Oct 17" so October 17th the door was built or fitted; "1st" could be something else entirely.

Hope to come and see this soon - meet up perhaps with Stuart?

Found the problem with my headlights or lack of them !!!! Wires were off the back but also the switch has melted so new one on its way but at least they work and nothing serious. - also we spotted this green sticker behind the trunk light in the bonnet !!! Interesting !?!?
