Posted: Wed Oct 02, 2019 6:29 amCracks me up how on one hand Tesla, low emissions etc etc.... SpaceX and this beast, each test launch is probably about a gazillion cars for a year and he is knocking them out left right and centre.
I do like Elon, amazed at him swapping from Carbon fibre to stainless but he seems struck on it, not just from a cost perspective.
"Carbon fiber material costs about $130,000 a ton, he said. Stainless steel sells for $2,500 a ton."
"Steel is easy to weld, and weather resistant," Musk added. "The evidence being that we welded this outdoors, without a factory. Honestly, I'm in love with steel."
