Albert and David Prentice who were in the auto business in Portadown and bought 3 of the cars at the Culloden auction.

Lisburn man Owen North bought a car and Belfast businessman Shamus Jennings also bought a car at the auction.

Whatcha

How long ago was he stripping the red car? I lived in bolton and bought a pair of front wheels of a guy ( 2007 ish? ), also used to live in Bolton. Im pretty sure he said the wheels were from the red car. Since sold the wheels to a guy off this board. I forget who.

Amazing footage in there - including the guy who paid £15300 for one. I wonder what was so special about that lot that the price went £5k above some of the others?!

I was at the auction and my notes state that Michael Wenman from Surrey bought the very last car (an automatic) at the auction hence the highest price.
There must have been a few bidders holding out for a good price but left it too late.

Hi, all, been a while.

Sorry to drag up this old post, but I've been watching that video from Robert as well as Al's list at the first post and have a couple of questions.

1. The list of lots vs prices got for them on the first page, differs from one previously posted on DOI. It seems that several are "out by one" so to speak. Which one is correct?
2. In the video, the auctioneer clearly says that the last lot is 11073, and later it shows an interview with Mr Wenman saying he bought the last lot. Al's list says the last lot was 11093. I'd always heard that the owner of the now green car (11073), bought it at auction along with a full set of SS panels, which would imply that it was Lot 11, as the auctioneer made no mention of them in his spiel.

Dermot, the original winning bidder of vin#11073 provided a cheque which subsequently "bounced" and the sale didn't go through. The auctioneer knew that there was another interested party so he rang him up later and that's when the current owner (Cyril) stepped in to buy the car. The SS panels were obtained at a different auction.

Aha. Wenman did say that he had had an offer to sell, at the auction, so presumably that was Cyril
