Happy 40th Birthday
Posted: Mon Nov 29, 2021 11:19 amI realised yesterday - quite by chance - that it was plus or minus my DeLorean's 40th birthday. It's 23 VINs from the last '81 car - of which production finished in November 81. Given they were pumping out 80 cars a day at that point, 7176 was likely built on the last work day in November 1981.
So, close enough, let's call it the 28th.
And what did it get for its present? Well...
- 400 mile drive
- Across 4 countries (Germany, Holland, Belgium, England)
- Hitting its top speed (sadly on the flat into a headwind on the autobahn, reckon it would have got a GPS 135 with a bit of a hill and without the wind)
- Apocalyptic hail storm in Belgium
- Almost ran out of petrol - was pogoing along out of the eurotunnel
- Returned home in one piece
Can't ask for more than that. Included the other bucket list item of the
on the way out of course
