I’ve stripped the engine down and removed the cylinder plug in the valley to setup the distributor.
Im looking through the plug hole and can see the #6 counterweight, but theres 3 holes in it, i was only expecting to see 1. Which hole should the bolt drop into, to lock at tdc #1 ???
The 8mm bolt im using will drop into all 3 holes.
Im following this guide;
https://dmctalk.org/showthread.php?1393 ... -Liter-PRV

And this youtube video;

Any help gratefully appreciated!

There seems to be 3 holes and 2 slots in the end of the counterweight

Remove the spark plug from no1 and use a long stick/ screwdriver to determine it is at top dead centre

Also remove the rocker cover and make sure that the valves are shut (gaps between the rocker and valve top) verifying that it is on the compression stroke

Then use the drill to lock the crank on that hole, then check the timing gauge near the crank is set to 0 to the TDC mark
