Ask away Glen. I know a lot on the subject as it happens from my 40 room hotel self-install last year, but my knowledge pales into insignificance compared with that of the winner of the FreeSat Installer Of The Year award ..... ;) (Al)

While we're waiting for the expert....
Does the cable box have a standard RF output? i.e. as well as the SCART, does it broacast to a configurable RF channel on the TV?
and I assume the CCTV is also modulating to a RF channel?

If so....., and assuming an aerial in and aerial out on the cable box and on the CCTV modulator....you don't really need anything i.e. aerial from roof to cctv, then from cctv to cable box, then from cctv to internal wiring with a Y splitter (ok you need this then) for the main TV aerial in.

Trouble is, as Al will tell you, that probably won't work, and you'll certainly need an amp at aome point. Also depends on how the internal wiring is at the moment - i.e. it is 3 wires from 1 aerial all going to seperate rooms? Or is it just 1 down wire, then 2 more from the lounge to the bedrooms?

Regarding the channel change, there are two options.
1) A wireless thingy - 2 little battery operated boxes, 1 in the lounge pointed at the TV, 1 in the bedroom receiving the remote signal - that sends the remote signals to the cable box. (Lots of these everywhere - Argos, Currys etc.)
2) Similar, but not wireless and uses the existing aerial cable in a clever fashion. Still has a box pointed AT the TV though in the lounge.

hi matey

yes at the moment the cctv runs though a modulator that goes from the mast to the mod though the mod back to the booster which at the moment allows all the tv,s to see it but i need to do the same for the digital tv & cable box but as i said need a remote control that i can change it on any of the tv,s

OK - I would not recommend this product, but you need may a modulator:
http://www.tvcables.co.uk/cgi-bin/tvcab ... lator.html (Al can recommend a good one I reckon)
assuming the cable box only has 2 scart outputs and no internal modulator, which many do have

This would give you the setup:
Mast to the mod though the mod, THROUGH THE NEW MOD, back to the booster

Depending on the setup and any other info you've missed out, then you would get everything everywhere, assuming you had digital TVs in the bedrooms, and the aerial itself is a good one.

To change channels on the cable box, you need another remote (a good universal remote would probably do it, or ask the cable company), and a remote signal sender

are examples of what I mean.

Apologies for the delay...believe it or not I have just returned from a Wurzels gig over in Harlow..and Alex came and had to sit through it..!!

Glen, I am fairly sure your cable box wont have a rf output, can you check?

If it doesnt then as Arran says you need a modulator...and your in luck..I have some leftover modulators which you will never see for sale in the UK because I had them built to my UK specification for a pub quiz project we did by an American company.

My modulators have two audio/video inputs, rf in and out with gain control, plus a video/audio loopthrough....and channel selection via front panel buttons (not twiddly screwdrivers), so one of my mods would do the job and replace the one you have.

Regarding the IR control you need one of these

http://www.thedigiboxshop.com/global-tv ... u-inc.html

Dont buy it from there I can do it cheaper, and the bloke used to work for me!

Let me know and I'll put the price together.

A
