Cheers Guys,
The Aston V8 is going to be the next big money car, so invest in one now
Jokes aside they have gone up by £10K since last year, (even if you did nothing to it) a sh*t one now will cost you £25K, average is £35-40K.
But god do they rust
I searched high and low for an average car a couple of years ago, got one on a ramp in Jersey and put my hand through the floor, only 30,000 miles on the clock.
This is how mine started off when I first got it...and this is bloody good condition for an average V8.

lots of stripping down to bare metal, pretty much the whole front of car, subframe & chassis and engine bay.

All plated parts were stripped, polished & replated. All castings hand polished (inc block and heads) (check out around spark plugs, and carb inlet manifolds in before and after pics)
Many heat shields and covers were remade as the originals were too rotten, and ALL nuts and bolts were changed to stainless. Most of the unusual sized ones I had to make on my lathe (such as rocker cover long nuts). Then all hand polished.
I even replaced brake pipes with hand polished ones and new clips.
The A/C compressor was rebuilt, new seals and body hand polished, all pulley wheels were skimmed on my lathe to get rid of corrosssion pitting and polished.
The air pump (by dissy) was treated to the same.
All removalble parts (brackets, rocker covers, air box etc) were soda blasted and powder coated.
No wonder it took me a whole year.
I'm chuffed you like it.
Trouble is..... now I gotta do the rest of the car.
