The driver stopped after a 150 mile journey to fill with fuel and heard it meeow
Without the spring compressor the kitten must have crawled in the top half of the coils when they were wider apart maybe? and once inside face down it was stuck?
Either that or the pesky Ruskies put it there to make the movie

The upper spring section should have been pulled apart (squeezing the lower coils) and the just spray the car with water..
she should have jumped out of that spring in no time:)
Its a truck, those springs have a very long run.
