Hello,

Thought I'd share this. Getting ready for the Manx gp in August/ September, just spectating mind!

Haven't been since I last rode this bike there in 2003 ?! Time flies.

Very light recommissioning. Hope to run it later today. Note the lack of lights, side stand or kickstart. It almost makes the D seem practical! Bicycle speedo only marginally worse than the d!!

Roll on August, yoof! They will certainly hear us!

Andy

very nice indeed !

Here's mine..

Image

its not quite a "proper" bike but its a good compromise being a 250cc its good for 90mph but will do all the city work for the knowledge with ease too

Kin' lovely Andy, that looks proper. You can even dangle ya bollocks in that filler hole in the seat, perfect.
I'll see you there & we'll have a beer or six

No mate. It's a broad church at the isle of man! More the merrier!

I spent a couple of hours chasing down lost sparks till I remembered that I put a switch back in the circuit...!

I actually traced the "bad earth" all the way back to the switch  before the penny dropped

So not running yet, but I did cough when I tried to bump it. So should be ok.

Think I will fit lights for the trip, maybe even kickstart and side stand. Pain in the arse without them really.

Tomorrow I move onto this one, which my mate it taking. I also haven't ridden this for well over 10 years. It will be a bit more work I think.

I am loving getting reacquainted with my fathers imperial tools. The old man snuffed it 8 years ago, and I built the silver 650 with him. It's quite nice.

These 2 bikes lay in slumber while I stored the d for 4 years at my mums garage. So this really feels like progress! 8-)

Cheers

A

Thanks mate.

I started building the silver 650 when I was still at school. TT is June, Manx GP is end of August. I am going to the Manx, not been since 2003. Really looking forward to feeling young and irresponsible again. The wife, kid, mortgage and good (ish!) job are blessings I count, but this will take me back to a time before that. Even working on the bikes again does that.

Like your fiesta I guess?

You should come mate.

Yes, the British stuff is nice. Rubbish, but looks great. So many "what could have been"s.

Do you see a pattern here?!
