I would say get the Netgear Glen (if you want it to work!) - any one will do, but try and get one with as many drives as possible (4 ideally), so you can set it up for RAID mirroring (i.e. one or two drives can fail and it not be a problem). I have a Netgear ReadyNAS RNDX4410 - whatever that is, and although I haven't actually set it up yet(!) I did a lot of research to narrow it down to that :geek:
The more you spend, the quicker the data access will be.

i am running a windows home server setup right here to backup all my hardware and it is a very good setup. multiple drive or raid setup is good to protect you from hardware failure but you must have a backup of some sorts (dvd or off-site). just my 2 cents

Oh yes - you can never have enough backups! My NAS device is just for backing up my backups, and in a seperate building to everything else.

I think all Glne needs one for is to store more porn.

Seriously though Glen - if Sam is taking photos of all your dogs you'll need a lot of terrabytes! How many have you got again? 10?!
