Basildon Festival Leisure Park, in conjunction with the cinema on site are celebrating ' Back to the Future Day' in what looks like spectacular fashion.

Thanks to Jason Monk's work we have a lead in !

The cinema on site is showing all three films, with the clubs playing 80's music... Plus resturants selling food at 80's prices! The organiser is incredibly enthusiastic and has good media contacts, with loads of ideas., video walls , fancy dress, lookalikes etc

I would imagine it's prob going to be a 3pm to 11pm type thing.

So we come in with cars and join in the fun, I am thinking of staying in the Premier Inn or something nearby, depends on drinking.....We can sort security for the cars the entire time etc

It's possible there might be something in their budget for expenses, I have no idea how much and haven't thrown any numbers around yet.

I know it comes after OctoberTec but we can't really change the date on this one!

So far we have confirmed, we also have Jason's mate with his VW camper van to recreate the scene!

OK I am definitely available then, on annual leave all week, I may even have a car by then? You have my contact details and know I am just up the road from Bas Vegas so whether I have a car by then or not then I would like to add to the numbers.

Al, has the woman who's organising it got back to you regarding what she is going to do for the club in exchange??? maybe a couple of hotel rooms for our northern club members???? do reckon that might be feasible???

I am planning on coming to this with the car.

I would be coming from work, and I'll have to drive back in the evening, I will be flying solo so if there is anyone who wants a lift to/from the Colchester area let me know.

Will be great to meet up with some of the 'Elder Statesmen' of the DeLorean Club

Also props of clock tower and welcome to Hill Valley backdrop


Inside we have adult games area with games from our childhoods – large style operation, table football and scaletrix

I am looking at booking roller rink as well


Cinema will be showing all films

They have a 6.30 showing just of BTTF2 selling tickets at 1985 price of £1.50. They will also be showing all 3 films for £10


We will also have a photo booth with 80’s props

Other on site venues are also getting involved with 80’s disco and menus with 1985 prices
