For us 'south-east' folk another option is the ferry from Harwich to the Hook and then a 250 mile drive to Vianden.

Day ferry prices are good too at 49 quid each way and seem to tie in quite well with the event

Harwich sounds good. "Day ferry" sounds even better, so I'm in!

What!?!?! 49 quid each way? I'm paying well over 280 euro's to get to the UK from Hook to Harwich and back.. Now I really don't think the sterling is worth 2 euro's or is it?
