Hi guys,
I expect some of you might already know about my drawings which were listed on ebay that i'm selling in good faith.

Before I re-list them on ebay, I thought i would post the details on here.

http://www.coventrytelegraph.net/new...orean-13229806

The article is quite detailed and they knew more about them than i did !

Particular attention should be drawn to the quote that they were told to skip them, by the administrators (as in before DMC was sold and bought by its current owner)

This should put at rest any thoughts that anyone else has a legal claim over them.
(but im no expert)

If anyone is (seriously) interested, please contact me.
My contact details are on the bottom of the original ebay listing (ended) there is a link to it from the bottom of the newspaper article or below.

£10,000

I'm not willing to take offers, happy to pack for international shipping at cost.

Just felt the need to point out that DMC has never been sold, nor does it have a "current owner", assuming you are of course referring to the company that built the car - i.e. DeLorean Motor Company / DeLorean Motor Cars Ltd. which went into receivership owing the British taxpayer several million pounds.
There is a company now in the USA that uses a very similar name, but isn't related, other than the service it provides being rather similar, and the only thing they bought is some parts from someone who bought some parts from someone who bought some more parts from someone who bought them from the Government/receiver - or essentially something like that.
I'm paraphrasing and simplifying history a little ;) - but just pointing there can be no legal claim from DMCH as they are known. If anyone else could claim to "own" them it could only ever be the British taxpayer, but too much time has passed now anyway.

Good luck with your sale, quite a unique and specialist thing you have there :)

Many thanks Arran for the helpful information.

I also thought that too much time has passed for any potential claim made by anyone to stand up.

I was under impression that DMC copyright is owned by a Liverpudlian guy living out in the USA ?

I would imagine they would have been owned by the liquidator of DMCL
But enough time has passed you would have thought

Again, a little vague, all depends on what you mean by "DMC" and "copyright".

The guy who owns the company that calls itself "DeLorean Motor Company" these days is indeed from Liverpool.

That company certainly don't own any copyright as far as anything in your possession - no. They do have their own logo which they protect, and they have registered some DeLorean themed trademarks (some of which were previous expired original ones), but this is not something they bought from the original company or anything like that. When they announced they were building "new" cars using the DeLorean name, they had a legal battle on their hands with John DeLorean's estate - this was eventually settled out of court, where one could probably surmise the "new" company paid a sum of money to Mrs. DeLorean to turn a blind eye.
Various other entities have registered similar DeLorean themed trademarks in various countries, but it becomes a little bit of a legal minefield over who is right or wrong. What the "new" company is essentially trying to do is to establish a global brand using the DeLorean name, and will take steps to protect that brand. This has nothing to do with buying said brand from the original owners (which didn't happen), and doesn't necessarily put them in the right, but just experienced and willing to spend legal fees protecting their business. Nothing wrong with it, and good luck to them.
You could build an identical car to the original (since the design copyright is public domain now), market it how you wanted, within reason. Where you might stumble, only in some countries (particularly the USA), is if you decided to call your "new car" a DeLorean, as that could potentially infringe their new trademark - and whether it did or not, they would likely take costly legal action anyway.

I see, thanks Arran.
There are so many different stories out there, I think the facts I have previously been told have been a bit Chinese wispers!
